Jon Carolino, the chief filipino. What’s going on guys? Well as you can simply see, I am the worship leader at AYM. I have been playing guitar for 12 years and have been in bands for 10. I have been leading worship here at AYM and helping out with the main worship team on Sundays for the past 5 years. I am also in a worship band called Standstill.

I was saved on April 26th 2003 and from that point on everything changed. Music pretty much consumed my life, but after being saved at the age of 17 I realized that God would have some plans for me and the talents he has given me. I started playing drums while a student at AYM then a year after I had graduated from the youth group, I was asked to come back as the main worship leader for the youth group. This went against all the rules that were in place at the time, but the leadership was desperate to find someone to fill in the spot that needed to be filled. I was more than willing.  From that moment on, my heart has been dedicated to youth, seeing them take ownership of their relationship with God and the passion of leading them in praise and worship.

My passion is to see teens grow to be awesome Christ followers, make their faith their own, and start changing and breaking the typical generation stereotypes they are in. This generation is under attack and we at AYM want to make sure we are equipping them to go out into the world and face it all and bring others to Christ as well. I’m not saying that AYM or Suburban Christian Church is the only church to do that. There are a lot of great churches out there. I’m just saying we are here. We are here to make a stand and reach out to a generation that is broken, hurting and searching.

So thats me in a nut shell. Here are some other interesting, non related facts. I sweat like the Niagara Falls pours water. I have a crazy obsession with guitar gear. Career wise I am a graphic designer for my family’s video game company called Game On. I can play the Ocarina.....on my Iphone. I spend a lot of time eating doughnuts with Matt and Terence. I think Steve Swartz is the man and want him to name all my bands. Eh, if you wanna know more, you’ll just have to come to AYM.
